From Colwyn:
“I like to think of my work as a blend of classic and new art forms. I’m particularly influenced by Schiele and Hasui in the classical department, and by comics, graphic novels, Disney and the work of certain Japanese animators in the modern era. I try to balance my work between commissions and exhibitions.”
Illustration is a discipline that eludes me … I think that’s why I’m drawn to it so much (pun intended). Colwyn’s portfolio has stuck with me for some time now, it’s one that I find myself continually visiting and always finding something new within a piece. I love that the slight monochromatic style of his work still brings depth to the images.
