Some time ago, the idea came across to create new name tags for everyone in the office. It was an exercise in branding, something to remind our office what else we can do and a chance to be creative. After we left the meeting, everyone sat on their hands and let the time pass until it was little more than forgotten.
About two weeks ago, we had a little downtime, so the idea was reinitiated. The other designer here, Russ, and I had a little brain storming session about how we want them to look. We came up with the idea of branding each team within the office, about 7, and tying them all together to a greater idea. A “sum of it’s parts” kinda thing. Russ thought about using a double helix structure where each team was a segment while the entire strand represented the entire office. I thought that could work and we got down to it. I sketched, doodled, researched annndd procrastinated. I couldn’t get motivated. So instead, I decided to create a version in the style of a vintage airline baggage claim ticket … or something like that. Mgmt wound up going with the DNA tags, but I like the way mine turned out.
