I first read Wes Anderson was directing an animation well before Life Aquatic was released … and I thought the man lost the plot. How was he going to translate his iconic style … wide lenses, camera movements, vintage wardrobe? His love of Futura Bold?!
Then I read it was going to be a stop-motion and my confidence was slightly restored.
After the the first scene I hated myself for ever doubting his abilities.
If you like Anderson’s style or if you like stop-motion or if you like movies or if you breathe air, you should go see this movie.
