Just want to give a quick update on a few things.

1. Portfolio Project

I’ve been sketching ideas for a custom portfolio case that will involve lasers! Really, laser etching and/or custom cutting various materials, like aluminum, wood or plastic and binding them together. My plan is to post updates with sketches and pictures as the piece comes together. This has been in my head for a while, but the recent Helly Hanson Annual Report project by Shelby White lit a spark under my ass.

2. Improving the Site

Also, I’ve been thinking about various ways to use Edge and Heavy as a tool to provide better resources and help promote conversation about influences, inspirations and ideas. I have a lot of questions in my head about career moves, techniques and just about everything else, so I’ll work on documenting those questions and answers, maybe I’ll work on some Q&A with a few local companies and designers.

Edge and Heavy has been getting hits from all over the globe, so I thought it would be cool if you guys drop some comments as to what you do, where you’re from and list some things you look for in design sites. This will help streamline the direction of the site to facilitate a better community environment.

3. Potential Futures

Lastly, my good friend and I are tag teaming on some designs in a layer tennis type process. We’ve really just started but have some sweet plans/ideas for their future. I don’t want to hint as to just what yet since things can change pretty quickly but keep checking back as I’ll try to update that as we progress.
